A close friend organized a photo event for the company. Nature and Landscape photography was the main objective of the event. Well for most of us hanging around with friends and having fun while enjoying the beauty of nature was more like it. That's the joy of Travel and Photography anyway.

Our destination was the town of Argao which boast for it's majestic Bugasok Falls and the Balay sa Agta Cave ("House of the Agta"). For additional stock knowledge, Agta is a Philippine mythical creature described as tall, hairy guy that smokes huge tobacco pipe. As to why the cave is called a such is revealed when trekkers reached the end of the cave. The cave is said to be one of the largest cave system in the province of Cebu.

Going to the said sites is a 10-15 minute motorcycle ride from Poblacion to Barangay Usmad and then 2-3 hour trek and river crossing to Balay sa Agta and Bugasok Falls in that order.

Traversing to the places is not for the faint-hearted. Going though the cave passes though a steep mountain trail that might be slippery during wet season. There's even an area where it is required to install harness for safety. The passage through the cave is so dark, rocky and slippery add that up to the danger of sudden water flow when there's rain.

After going through these difficulties the group was rewarded with the magnificent view of the Bugasok Falls and discovered the secrets of Balay sa Agta. The group was also reminded as what a friend of mine always told us... it is through pain and pressure where we achieve excellence and besides, most of the beautiful places to photograph are those that are not so accessible which gives you perspectives that is likely to be very unique and only having ever been seen by a selected few.
